Max Woodfin’s Key Issues

My main priority in running for office is to bring vibrance to our democracy and welcome people of differing perspectives into the political fold. We need to revitalize democracy and reform our electoral system to be more inclusive rather than divisive and exclusive, create more accessible and transparent representation, and develop initiatives to engage civic participation and input from diverse perspectives. I will also champion the following policy:

  • Increased access to preventative health care, to include mental and behavioral healthcare; improved access to mental health care for veterans and first responders
  • Robust protections for women’s body sovereignty and medical choice, as well as access to essential reproductive health care.
  • Sustainable public land management that encourages people of all backgrounds and abilities to spend time in the outdoors.
  • Comprehensive solutions to local threats from Climate Change: wildfires, water scarcity, and weather-related disasters.
  • Equal access to student-centered education that prioritizes quality over quantity.
  • Forward-thinking property tax policy and an income-based circuit breaker that uplifts livelihoods across House District 49 and allows people to stay in their homes.
  • Community-informed solutions to housing insecurity plus accessibility to reliable public transit.
  • Common sense gun policies that reflect the unique culture of our intersecting mountain and urban communities while protecting those most at risk.
